How to participate

• To add a new entry to Wikipages, on our home page, enter its name in the box and click the Create new entry button. It looks like this (below is a copy of what you'll see on the home page, and is functional if you want to add your entry from right here):

• Your page will be created from a standard template. Fill in the correct information in the fields shown for your new entry. To make sure your entry appears in the correct neighborhood, add the neighborhood's name to the category field so that it looks like this: [[Category:Neighborhood Name]] (This should appear at the bottom of the page.)

• To add a page to a category, use the following wiki markup:

[[Category:Your Category Name]]

• To link to a category without making the current page a part of that category (for linking to a category from the city's main page), use the following wiki markup:

[[:Category:Your Category Name|Your Visible Link Name]]

• To add a photograph, first create a user account and log in.
• Go to "Upload file" , then choose the correct file on your computer.
• Include photographer and caption information in the summary

• To add your new business listing to our New York City list, click the "New York City Listings" link on the Home page to see the alphabetical list of entries.

In this example, you would click the text "New York City Listings" under the New York City header to add a link for your new page.

• Edit the page by clicking the "Edit" button as shown in the following screenshot. Add your new entry's name in the alphabetical list.
