Cocoa Bar was conceptualized and built from the ground up by Yaniv Reeis and Liat Cohen, a husband and wife team who moved to Brooklyn, NY from Miami, FL seven years ago. After having achieved their goal of establishing the brand and a stream of revenue attractive enough to illict a buyer, they sold Cocoa Bar (both the Park Slope and Lower East Side Manhattan locations) to Bahman Soltani, an independent filmmaker/actor/producer best known for his role in "Sunday" (Winner Best Picture, Sundance 1997).

Bahman was always interested in either owning a coffee shop or a wine bar in the city and since Cocoa Bar is both, it turned out to be the perfect acquistion for him. He looks forward to providing Park Slope and Lower East Side residents with a nice, comfortable place to surf the web on the free wi-fi network, enjoy a cup of gourmet coffee or a delicious piece of chocolate and for wine/beer lovers a vast selection of brands catering to any taste.
